Hiked EZ loop

Distance: 0.74 Mile Duration: 23 minutes

We were running out of time at Tyler SP and needed to hit the road to head back to Austin, but we figured that we had enough time for the EZ loop. Nothing spectacular, but a nice walk in the woods.

This is a shared trail with bikes, but we ran across no one on our trip - hiker or biker. Bikes are supposed to go clockwise and hikers counter-clockwise - as nicely shown on the milemakers that they had every 1/4 mile.

Quite a few areas of the trail were overgrown, so it would have been more pleasant if we had long pants on. At least our hiker-socks helped! :-)

As the distances for the various loops do not seem to be posted online, here they are:

EZ loop: 0.74 miles

A loop: 2.53 miles

B loop: 3.10 miles

C loop: 1.47 miles

D loop: 2.14 miles

Blackjack: 0.35 miles

Lake: 2.08 miles

Whispering Pines: 1.67 miles

Another of my recurring trails. I've made it thru Loop A and B so far. This trail is shared with cyclists. As many times as I've run into them I've never has any issues. Full of several switchbacks, but fun for a weeknight or full Saturday hike.

Trails are setup where you can hike 10+ miles or just a couple of miles at a time. I didn't have time to hike all of the trails. I did however hike the A B and EZ loops.

Don't let the official map fool you, these trails have some bite. Trails C and D have plenty of switchbacks to keep you moving at a good clip. There are a couple of inclines that will really test your mettle. trails loop close to park roads if you need to cut a trek short.

This is a family favorite. Started camping here at 4 months old and still go back. Watch for racoons if camping they will get in everything.
