Coppertone and I stumbled upon this park while hiking out of the adjacent Benicia State Recreation Area to the east. Our hike there on this day is recorded in a separate log.
Glen Cove Waterfront Park is a small natural space along the shores of Carquinez Straight. We walked along the Bay Area Ridge Trail that cuts through here until it ends in a small loop at the western end of the park. After that, we spent some time crisscrossing the park to map out the smaller trail segments.
There are some large trees that line the shoreline with picnic benches. We spent a bit of time watching a large cargo ship power its way through the straight against the incoming current. It was also strangely pulling a tugboat behind it, something I'd not seen before.
I'd estimate there to be about half a mile of trail segments in total and we spent about 30 minutes here. We then retraced our steps back to Benicia State Recreation Area.
