This park is not really good for hiking. The trails are not marked and the mountain bikers are abundant.

Trails can be confusing, even with my biking map! Weekday afternoon was a bit crowded, but folks are helpful if you get lost. :) Great trails for biking, though.

This is one park you can get turned around very easily, there are a lot of trails Went looking for Caches and noticed that it is wise to stay on the trails, offtrail is very overgrown with all kinds of things to poke ya. All and all it was a good time, just watch the bikers
hikers beware

People everywhere. Spent the most of my time dodging mountain bikers. It looks like this trail was geared more towards riding a bike on than hiking. Also the trail is right next to a busy road, not very tranquil. The east trail is cover with left over debris, old cans and lots of trash. Although part of these trails are very pretty I would not recommend this as a place for a good hike.

Coppertone and I strolled around the park in search of geocaches. A recently discovered biking trail map was very useful in keeping us from getting lost, something that we've done many times in the past at this park.
Nice Creek, but trails not well marked

This hike has some nice scenery, but I spent most of the trip trying not to get run over. Does have an awesome overlook that you can climb on if your not a big chicken.
Too many bikers, especially south.

I had been to the park before, 3 years ago, but had never hiked it. The trails sure do go up and down alot.
With all the loose dust on the trails, I'll bet it gets really messy here after a good rain.

There really isn't any sense to the trails here at this park, but there are some fun ones to explore! We ended up along a large creek (Big Walnut Creek?), by a dry creek, walked through a growth giant bamboo or cane, and didn't see a single other person on the trails.

Hiked all over the park today with my son. This park has lots of trails with mountain bike riders so you have to keep an eye on the trail ahead of you at all times. The trails criss cross the creek lots of times so where shoes you can get wet or just wait till it has not rained in a while. Good hiking close to home.

As someone beginning to hike, I really enjoyed this place. I went on a Sunday by myself, took instuctions and suggestions from Austin Explorer and had a great time and found that what had been said in the Forum to be quite acurate. Of coarse being a beginner the hike did take about a hour longer ( I got lost ) but it was fun, and thank goodness it was the weekend and there were some people to see and talk to and I did not feel my skeleton would be the last anyone would see of me :>).

It was raining and the trail was very slippery in spots. Great place to hike.
