Coppertone and I decided to walk this trail since it seemed to be the longest in the city.  Our first effort to walk from Sutters Landing to downtown was foiled by a fence that was built to keep people out of some recycling area just to the west of the park.  But Google Maps said a trail continued from here!

We had breakfast instead and then hatched a plan to go to Old Sacramento in downtown and pick up the trail there.  More success this time.  After mentally flipping a coin we headed south and kept going until we felt compelled to turn around due to heat and Sun exposure.  Should have put on sunscreen!

Outside of the Old Sacramento area, the trail on the levee is not terribly interesting, though the river and its far bank provided some nice views now and then.  We may have ended up spending more time walking around Old Sacramento than we did on the trail.
