Park Mid-Section Burkett Park to 5 Point Junction

Longhorns at 5 Points Junction
These longhorns were coming to the 5 Points junction as we were leaving. Quite a few groups of cattle were out today. As can be seen, the grass has grown a lot due to the extra rains.

Temps in the upper 80's, partly cloudy and a 10-15 mph southerly breeze.

Fitness hike with a friend today.  Saw a male Painted Bunting at Burkett Park horse trough but by the time I brought my camera up, he flew away.  First time I've seen this bird at Burkett Park.

Bee brush is begining to bloom again and I've seen a few cactus flowers blooming for the second time this season.  There are also some wildflowers to be seen.

LOTS of longhorns running around today - saw at least four groups of them at various points during the hike.  A few were curious but no problems encountered.

All in all, a good day to hike!
