Coppertone and I were plenty pleased with our previous hike at Yakso Falls.  But the hike to Grotto Falls was the best of the day.

Getting there is a bit of an adventure.  We followed miles and mile of gravel and dirt roads to get to the trailhead.  Because cell service was spotty at best at times we were not entirely sure we were headed in the right direction.  Eventually we did spot the trailhead.  It even has a bathroom.

There's not much elevation gain to get to the falls, but a few switchbacks make the going fairly easy.

These falls are magnificent!  They thunder over an overhang grotto that provides access to underneath the falls.  The spray cools the temperature to the chilly range.
