Comments: Most recent hike I did 6 1/2 miles in and back (13 total) from the Birch Creek side down to Yeagua Creek. This trail is amazingly different in the different seasons. Wild hogs are abudant and mule and white tail deer are not uncommon sights. Migratory birds are plentiful in the marshland areas around the trail. Ive done several overnight solo trips of about the same length. Aside from a few horses and an ocassional hiker or biker, the trail offers a great deal of solitude. This latest hike i saw no one. I usually take a hammock and good book for the mid hike break.
