I hiked the Piedra Ice Fissures Trail. On the way up to the overlook, I found many large cracks in the ground (ice fissures). Some were 25-30 ft deep (estimate). The overlook was very nice. This trail is popular so it's easy to follow.
I decided to hike the Piedra B and Piedra C on my way back and took a spur trail to another scenic overlook above Williams Creek. These trails are not marked or easy to find/follow.

I hiked half of the Piedra River Trail. I started too late and the days were too short to attempt a hike of the complete trail and back. This is a very nice hike along the Piedra River. It keeps going and going. Listening to the white noise of the water flowing down the river put me in a zen state.
Note: I attempted to hike the other half of the trail from First Fork TH, but the USFS road was closed so I could not get to it. I'll have to do this other half when they reopen this trail once Winter is over.
A Walk Around The Reservoir

For my last hike of 2025, I walked around the Big Meadows Reservoir. The trail was easy to follow even though there was snow and mud to contend with. At one creek crossing at the far end, I walked across some ice since the bridge was out and it cracked and I fell through. It was only 10-12" deep, so not a problem other than getting my feet weet.
Liberty Cap and Otto's Tub

I hiked out to Liberty Cap from the north trailhead (about 5.5 mi), then took a short side trip to Otto's Bathtub on the way back. Otto's Tub was definitely worth it! Liberty Cap Trail was generally easy to follow. The trail to Otto's Tub wasn't marked other than a small 3 stone cairn that is easy to miss.

This is a short hike from the road to the base of Skyline Arch. Trail is well-marked and easy to follow.
