My wife and I did an extended walk along Mission Bay to build our endurance, including Fiesta Island, out to Sea World and back.  Mission Bay is one of San Diego's premiere recreation spots, both on land and water.  This is a great place to walk, jog, bike or skate.  Dogs, however, are not allowed during daylight hours.  In the water, you can boat, jetski, water ski or swim.
