My wife and I hiked up to Bierstadt Lake. The parking lots were full, so we had to park along the road. On the way up, we did the main frontal assault trail which involved a lot of switchbacks and traffic. On the way back, we decided to take a different trail (there.are numerous ways to hike to Bierstadt Lake) that was longer, but less trafficked. There were some tricky downhill spots, but our trekking poles helped immensely.
